Maselli Records Highest Finish for Bentley Men at UMass-Lowell

LOWELL, Mass. – During the multi-divisional George Davis Invitational Saturday at UMass-Lowell's Cushing Field Complex, senior Peter Maselli (Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson HS) had the highest finish for a member of the Bentley University men's track and field team.

Maselli finished eighth in the javelin with a throw of 159 feet, four inches. Freshman Nick Luther (Groton, Conn./Marine Science Magnet School) cracked the top ten in the same event, posting a distance of 146'4".

Bentley also received solid efforts from a couple sprinters, senior Jared Reimer (Berlin, Conn./ Berlin HS) 18th of 31 in the 100 meters (11.74 seconds) and junior Joe Wix (Granby/Granby Memorial HS) 16th of 32 in the 200 (23.65).

Running in his hometown, junior Nick Czelewicz (Lowell/Lowell HS) set a pair of new personal bests, with times of 11.82 in the 100 (22nd place) and 24.14 in the 200 (21st place).

Senior Soham Basu (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood HS) shaved more than 45 seconds off his career best in the 5,000 meters, finishing in 16:28.66.

Bentley's next action is Friday at Merrimack College with Stonehill College and Saint Anselm College.
