Bentley Men Open Track Season at AIC; Maselli Has Team’s Highest Individual Finish

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Senior Peter Maselli (Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson HS) had the highest individual finish for a member of the Bentley University men's outdoor track and field team, which competed in the American International Spring Invitational Saturday. It was the team's first meet since February 2020 and first outdoor competition since May 2019.

Maselli established a new PR in the javelin (163'4") while finishing second of seven in the javelin. In the same event, freshman Nick Dadasis (Norfolk/King Philip Reg. HS) was fourth (148'2") and classmate Nick Luther (Groton, Conn./Marine Science Magnet School) was fifth (145'1").

Junior Joe Wix (Granby, Conn./Granby Memorial HS) was third among 11 in the 400 meters (52.27) with senior Mark Stanic (Lincoln Park, N.J./Boonton HS) right behind in fourth (52.98).

Freshman Matthew Chicko (North Andover/North Andover HS), in his collegiate debut, was third of eight in the 800, finishing in 2:03.22.

The above three were also part of Bentley's 4x400 relay team that finished third of five teams. Along with junior Devin Wendel (Westfield, N.J./Westfield HS), they turned in a time of 3:31.57.

As a team, Bentley was fifth among the five participants. Central Connecticut State was at the top of the standings, nearly doubling the runner-up host team, 208-115.

Next Sunday, Bentley will compete in a dual meet at Stonehill.
