Sihvonen Gets the Call, Will Make Return Trip to NCAA Championships

WALTHAM, Mass. – For the second straight year, Bentley University senior Holt Sihvonen (Lebanon, Conn./Lyman Memorial HS) has been invited to compete in the javelin at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

This year's event will be held at the Irwin Belk Complex in Charlotte, North Carolina May 24-26 with Johnson C. Smith University serving as the host team. The javelin will be contested at 10:30 am on the meet's final day.

Eighteen student-athletes will compete in the javelin with Sihvonen seeded 16th with a throw of 205 feet, 8 inches (62.68m). He achieved that distance during the Bryant Invitational on March 31.

Last year, Sihvonen earned second-team All-America honors by placing ninth with a throw of 210 feet, 1 inch. He owns the school record of 214'10", set at Bryant April 1, 2017.

This season, Sihvonen captured the Northeast-10 Conference championship for the second time in his career and also placed fifth in the New Englands.
