Higgins, Bolick Post Bentley’s Highest Finishes at New Englands

BOSTON, Mass. – Senior Tim Bolick (Hopkinton/Hopkinton HS) and junior Seamus Higgins (Randolph, N.J./Randolph HS) had the highest individual finishes for the Bentley University men's indoor track and field team during the 2017 New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association Championships which concluded Saturday at the Reggie Lewis Center.

Bolick was tenth of 32 in the 800 meters (1:54.13) and Bentley junior Nick Skarin (Sunapee, N.H./Sunapee HS) followed him across the finish line three-hundredths of a second later. Both achieved new personal bests with Bolick improving on his PR by 1.26 seconds and Skarin by 0.70 seconds. Their performances elevated them to sixth and seventh, respectively, on Bentley's all-time list.

Higgins finished tenth of 25 in the 3,000, covering the distance in 8:42.48. Sophomore teammate Dan Hergott (Wethersfield, Conn./Xavier HS) also competed in the 3000 with his 8:52.29 good for 18th and a PR by 5.85 seconds.

Bolick and Skarin were part of Bentley's 4x800 relay that placed ninth overall and second among Division II participants in 7:56.43. That quartet also included senior Nik Haas (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey HS) and freshman Michael Cannata (Orange, Conn./Amity Regional HS).

Haas finished 14th overall in the mile, finishing in 4:20.55, and Falcon junior David Hernandez (Tokyo, Japan) had a similar showing in the long jump (20'11.25").

Bentley did not score in its final competition of the indoor season.
