Nee Selected as 3rd-team CoSIDA Academic All-America®

WALTHAM, Mass. – Sean Nee (West Yarmouth/Dennis-Yarmouth Reg. HS), who graduated Magna Cum Laude from Bentley University last month, has been selected for the 2016 NCAA Division II Academic All-America® Men's Track and Cross Country third team by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Nee is the fifth Bentley student-athlete to earn Academic All-America honors during the 2015-16 academic year, a total only nine Division II institutions nationally can better. He joins Keegan Hyland (men's basketball), Tyler McFarland (men's basketball), Jaci Buscher (women's volleyball) and Paul Norris (football) on the select list.

Nee finished his collegiate career with his name attached to four school records. He broke the indoor mark in the 600 meters during the Greater Boston Track Club Invitational in January, finishing in 1:22.44, and has a share of the outdoor standards in the 4x800 (7:39.32) and 4x1500 (16:34.58) relays as well as the indoor 4x800 (7:40.52).

Nee's senior year included earning All-East Region honors from the United States Track and Field & Cross Country Coaches Association in the 800 meters both indoors and out. His time of 1:52.26 at last month's New Englands ranked third on Bentley's all-time list and was the fifth best in the East this spring.

Nee captured the 800 at the Northeast-10 Indoor Championships in February and was third at the same distance during the conference's outdoor championships.

Nee, who was sidelined by injury during his junior year, achieved a 3.67 grade point average as a finance major. He was selected for the 2016 Academic All-Northeast-10 men's indoor track team.

Nee is the fourth Academic All-America that the Bentley men's track and field program has produced since 2012.
