Connolly & Haas Bentley’s Best at John Thomas Terrier Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. – Senior Christian Connolly (Kingston/Silver Lake Reg. HS) and sophomore Nik Haas (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey HS) were among the members of the Bentley University men's indoor track and field team who set new personal records during Saturday's John Thomas Terrier Invitational at the Boston University Track Center.

Connolly ran the 800 meters in 1:56.27 to move into tenth on Bentley's all-time list in the event. It also placed him sixth thus far this season on the Northeast-10 Conference performance list. A new PR by 1.73 seconds, he finished 47th in a field of 139.

Haas moved into the top ten on the NE-10 list in the mile with his 4:19.76 a PR by 6.64 seconds. Overall, he was 66th out of 198 competitors. Also in the mile, junior David Cooper (Woburn/Woburn HS) set a PR of 4:28.29 while winning his heat. That time put him in 121st overall.

Senior Anthony Charter (Hubbardston/Quabbin Reg. HS) was 15th of 47 in the long jump, clearing 21 feet, 4.75 inches. Also in that event, junior Connor Hichens (Sharon/Sharon HS) was 30th (19'11"). In addition, Hichens was 21st of 33 in the triple jump (42'7.5").

Five members of the team competed in the Tufts Stampede on Saturday with the team's best showing coming in the 200 as junior Edy-Elliot Uthman-Olukokun (West Warwick, R.I./West Warwick HS) placed 18th of 56 (24.26).

The full team is back at Tufts' Gantcher Center next Saturday for the Tufts Cupid Challenge.
