Bentley Men Collect Three Fourths during UNH Wildcat Classic

DURHAM, Mass. – Three members of the Bentley University men's outdoor track and field hockey team earned three fourth-place finishes while competing in the predominantly-Division I Wildcat Classic at the Reggie F. Atkins Track at the University of New Hampshire Saturday.

Among those was junior Christian Connolly (Kingston, Mass./Silver Lake Regional) with a time of 1:54.92 in the 800 meters. Competing in a field of 32, he established a new personal best by about four seconds while moving to eighth on Bentley's all-time list. It also elevated him to tenth on this year's Northeast-10 Conference performance list.

Sophomore Edy-Elliot Uthman-Olukokun (West Warwick, R.I./West Warwick HS) was fourth of 21 in the long jump, clearing 20 feet, 3.5 inches. Also in that event, junior Anthony Charter (Hubbardston, Mass./Quabbin Reg. HS) was fifth (20'2.5") and freshman Lawrence Greenidge (Randolph, Mass./Boston College HS) was ninth (19'8"). Greenidge was also sixth of 12 in the triple jump (40'8.75").

The other fourth was recorded by junior Steve Maffiolini (Southington, Conn./ Southington HS), with a time of 50.65 seconds in the 400 meters.

In the 200, Uthman-Olukokun and Maffiolini were fifth and sixth, respectively, with times of 22.66 and 22.82 seconds. Maffiolini's set a new PR by 0.28 seconds and sophomore Connor Hichens (Sharon, Mass./Sharon HS) improved on his PR by 0.73 seconds, placing 16th of 40 in 23.36.

Junior John Chiulli (Lynbrook, N.Y./Lynbrook HS) was seventh of 21 in the discus with his throw of 131 feet, two inches putting him eighth on the NE-10 performance list. He was also 11th of 20 in the shot put (39'8.75").

Other notable performances included senior Conor Higgins (Randolph, N.J./Randolph HS) 13th of 39 in the 1500 (4:06.45), freshman Nik Haas (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey HS) 17th in the 1500 (4:09.04), sophomore David Cooper (Woburn, Mass./Woburn HS) 12th of 32 in the 800 (2:01.43) and sophomore Wes Dupray (Rowley/St. John's Prep) 14th in the discus (155'3"). That was a PR by nearly six feet and ninth best in the NE-10 this season.

Bentley will compete in the Holy Cross Multis Wednesday and Thursday and the MIT Invitational next Saturday.
