Drago Has Bentley’s Highest Finish during Bridgewater State Bear Invitational

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – An eighth-place finish by senior John Drago (Avon, Conn./Avon HS) was the highest placing by a member of the Bentley University men's track and field team during its initial meet of the outdoor season, the Bridgewater State Bear Invitational Saturday. Drago placed eighth in a field of 49 with a time of 4:09.27.

In the 800 meters, freshman Sean Nee (West Yarmouth/Dennis-Yarmouth Reg. HS) was tenth of 35, finishing in 2:04.47. Senior Craig Robinson (Scarborough, Maine/Scarborough HS) and junior Conor Higgins (Randolph, N.J./Randolph HS) followed in 13th and 14th, respectively. Robinson's time was 2:04.79 and Higgins followed in 2:05.25.

Seniors Teddy Farley (Acton/Acton-Boxborough HS) and Dan Biales (Acton/Acton-Boxborough HS) were the first of eight Bentley runners to finish in the 10,000 meters. Farley was ninth overall in 35:50.63 and Biales followed about a quarter-second later.

In the javelin, sophomores Chris Ricci (Coventry, R.I./Bishop Hendricken HS) and Kyle Sullivan (Burlington/Burlington HS) were tenth and 12th, respectively, with throws of 159'8" and 155'8". John Chiulli (Lynbrook, N.Y./Lynbrook HS), also a sophomore, delivered the discus 108 feet, 7 inches to finish 12th out of 35.

Due to the cold temperatures, Bentley's sprinters and jumpers did not compete.

Next weekend , Bentley will have athletes competing in both the Raleigh Relays at North Carolina State and the Tufts Snowflake Classic.
