WALTHAM, Mass. – Max Bonte, Gabe Horwitz and Nikolai Pran won in singles but the Falcons fell to Franklin Pierce 4-3 on Monday afternoon.

The teams split the six singles matches 3-3, so it was Franklin Pierce's point from doubles that proved to be the difference.

In No. 2 doubles, Horwitz and Nikolai Pran battled to a 7-6 (7-2) victory over Ralph Hiebel and Alejandro Ortiz.

The Ravens however took the No. 1 and No. 3 matches to win the doubles point and take a 1-0 lead into singles.

Bonte was victorious in the No. 1 match over Joe Herin in two sets, 6-3, 6-2. Horwitz dropped just three games in defeating Hiebel in the No. 2 match, 6-1, 6-2.

Pran won in three sets over Preston Gordon in No. 3, 7-5, 6-3, 7-6 (7-4).

The Ravens though won the 4-6 matches which was enough to give them the overall victory.

The Falcons are back on the courts on Tuesday when they host Stonehill in a non-conference encounter.
