Horwitz Wins in Singles but Bentley Falls at Saint Michael’s

COLCEHSTER, Vt. – Senior Gabe Horwitz won in No. 2 singles but Bentley fell at Saint Michael's 6-1 on Saturday.

Horwitz defeated the Purple Knights' Jackson Moser 7-5, 6-2. Horwitz was also in the No. 1 pairing with Nikolai Pran and they dropped a close match to Julius van den Broek and Mathis Billman 7-6.

The No. 2 doubles match between Bentley's Max Bonte and Christian Duffy and Saint Michael's Tristian Du Plessis and Sergio Barroso was also closely contested, but the home team won it 6-4.

The No. 1 singles match between Bonte and Du Plessis couldn't have been any closer. The first two sets were split with Bonte winning the first set 6-4 and Du Plessis the second set in a tiebreak, 7-6. The third set went to a tiebreak as well with Du Plessis winning it 7-6.

Bentley's record goes to 2-2 on the season. It's next match is on Saturday when they host Adelphi.
