WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley men's tennis defeated Assumption 4-3 on Sunday in its first match of the season.

The Falcons won the doubles point behind their No. 1 and No. 3 teams. Gabe Horwitz and Nikolai Pran earned a 6-2 victory in No. 1 and Liam Marr and Ansh Chadha claimed a 6-4 victory in No. 3.

The singles matches were split 3-3 but the point Bentley earned from doubles put them over the top.

Max Bonte was a 6-1, 6-3 winner in No. 1 and Pran was a 6-4, 6-3 victory in No. 3 for his second win of the day. Chadha also won twice with a 6-1, 7-5 victory in No. 4.

Bentley will be back in action on Sept. 27 when the host Southern New Hampshire.
