Bentley Falls to Saint Michael’s in NE10 Clash

WALTHAM, Mass. – Saint Michael's battled to a 7-0 victory over Bentley University in a Northeast-10 matchup on Tuesday afternoon.

The Purple Knights improved to 3-2 in the NE10, while the Falcons dropped to 2-3.

The match was highlighted by a marathon three setter in No. 1 singles between Bentley's Jordan Soifer (Stamford, Conn./Westhill) and Saint Michael's John Weiss. Weiss won the first set 6-4 but Soifer earned the second set 7-6. The two then went back and forth in the third set, but Weiss finally emerged with it by a 13-11 score to take the match.

The No. 5 singles match between Bentley's Liam Marr (Franklin, Mass./Franklin) and Tristian Du Plessis also went three sets. Du Plessis won the first set 6-4 and Marr the second set 7-5, before Du Plessis took the third set 10-3.

The other singles matches were Max Bonte (Bradenton, Fla./St. Stephens) against Jackson Moser in No. 2, Nikolai Pran (Oslo, Norway) against Jason Boucher in No. 3, Diego Ramos (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) against Sergio Barroso in No. 4 and Noah Monsanto (Woodbridge, N.J./Woodbridge) against Mathis Billman in No. 6.

The doubles pairings for Bentley were Bonte and Soifer in No. 1, Marr and Pran in No. 2 and Andrew Broom (Scarsdale, N.Y./Scarsdale) and Reilly O'Brien (Andover, Mass./Andover) in No. 3.

Next up for the Falcons are the final two matches of the regular season this weekend, on the road against Southern New Hampshire on Saturday and Post University on Sunday.
