Men’s Tennis Defeats Nichols 5-2 for Second Straight Victory

 

DUDLEY, Mass. – The Bentley men's tennis team racked up its second straight victory with a 5-2 decision over Nichols on Sunday.

Jordan Soifer (Stamford, Conn./Westhill), Max Bonte (Bradenton, Fla./St. Stephens) and Nikolai Pran (Oslo, Norway) each won in both singles and doubles.

The duo of Soifer and Bonte combined for a 6-1 win in No. 1 doubles over Leon Zeis and Ludwig Schlatzer. In singles, Soifer defeated Zeis 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 1 match and Bonte topped Fred Bertrams 6-1, 7-6 in No. 2.

The other doubles matches saw Liam Marr (Franklin, Mass./Franklin) and Gabe Horwitz (Lake Oswego, Ore./Lake Oswego) defeat Bertrams and Yannick De Vet 6-3 in No. 2. Pran and Diego Ramos (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) get the better of Santi Perez and Trevor Schwarzmann, 6-4 in the No. 3 match.

Pran defeated Schwarzmann in three sets in the No. 3 match, 7-5, 2-6, 10-7. Fellow freshman Braden Thyroff (Pittsford, N.Y./Sutherland) knocked off Perez in No. 4, 7-5, 6-0.

The Falcons improved to 2-0 this fall. Their next scheduled matches are on Monday at home against Eastern Nazarene and Saturday against Boston Univ.
