MIT Tops Bentley in Non-Conference Tilt

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – MIT improved to 2-0 on the season with a 9-0 victory over Bentley in a non-conference men's tennis match on Wednesday.

The Engineers were coming off a 6-3 victory over Division I Boston University in their first dual match of the season.

The Falcons fell to 5-3 on the season.

In the doubles matches, senior Alex Novins (Wellesley, Mass./Wellesley) and freshman Liam Marr (Franklin, Mass./Franklin) put in a strong effort in the No. 3 match against MIT's Joseph Li and Ben Ebanks, with the Engineers pair winning it 8-7.

In singles Falcons grad student Connor Aulson (Groveland, Mass./Pentucket) put in a strong showing in the No. 2 match. Going up against MIT's Richter Jordaan, Aulson won the first set 6-2 before Jordaan took the second set 6-4. Jordaan then narrowly won the tiebreaker 11-9.

Bentley's next match is set for Saturday, March 5 at Queens (NY).
