Aulson, Fadul and Weitz to Serve as Bentley Men’s Tennis Team Captains

WALTHAM, Mass. – Seniors Connor Aulson (Groveland, Mass./Pentucket Regional), Mauricio Fadul Rubod (Miami, Fla.) and Daniel Weitz (Roslyn, N.Y./Roslyn) will serve as captains of the Bentley University men's tennis team for the 2021 season.

"The men's team is very even up and down the lineup," said 8th year head coach Rick Edelmann. "The captains have done a great job of inspiring the team to compete at the highest level."

"Connor, Danny, and Mauricio are very steady leaders of a veteran group that includes last year's captain Kendall Au, who returned to attend grad school," Edelmann continued. His experience will help us win matches this year."

All three have been key members of the men's tennis program since their arrival on Bentley's campus.

Aulson has been named first team All-Conference in singles twice in his career and he has a career record of 13-1 in NE10 singles matches. An ITA Scholar-Athlete award recipient last season, he is a double major in accounting, and media arts and society.

Fadul won a number of key matches for the Falcons in the fall last season, helping the team to wins over Nichols and the District of Columbia. As a freshman he was named to the NE10 All-Rookie team. In the classroom he is majoring in supply chain and operations management.

Weitz often teamed with Aulson in the No. 1 doubles position last season. Also an accomplished singles player, he was named second team All-Conference as a sophomore in 2019 and to the All-Rookie team in 2018. He has 37 career singles wins entering his senior year. Weitz is a finance major at Bentley.

Bentley was picked 4th in the NE10 Men's Tennis Preseason Coaches' Poll. The voting was tight however, with little separation between the top four teams in the poll of Southern New Hampshire, Le Moyne, Franklin Pierce and Bentley.
