This Day in Bentley History - April 23, 2011: Bentley Men's Tennis Wins 2nd Straight NE10 Title

On this day back in 2011, the Bentley men's tennis team made it back to back NE10 championships, with a 5-4 victory over Southern New Hampshire.

The Falcons, who were the No. 3 seed in the tournament, trailed the top seeded Penmen 4-3 at one point of the match. But the Falcons won the final two singles matches in progress, won by Andrew Waddington and Victor Suski, to rally the Falcons and claim the program's second straight NE10 title.

Bentley went on to the NCAA East Regional, where they met the Penmen again in the first round. That time it wasn't as close, as the Falcons swept to a 5-0 victory. The run though was ended in the second round by Queens (N.Y.) and Bentley finished the season with a 14-8 record.

The Falcons won the 2010 NE10 title when they defeated Merrimack in the finals 5-0. That team did not drop a single match in the three matches on its way to the NE10 title, and they also defeated Stonehill 5-0 in the first round of the East Regional that season, before they were beaten by Queens in the second round.
