Bentley Sweeps Past UMass-Dartmouth 9-0

 

Dartmouth, Mass. – Five different players won in both singles and doubles to lead the Bentley men's tennis team to a 9-0 sweep of UMass-Dartmouth in the Falcons' first dual-match of the season on Thursday.

Bentley dropped a total of just nine games in the six singles matches. All six players won in straight sets, including junior Daniel Weitz (Roslyn, N.Y./Roslyn) in No. 1 by a 6-0, 6-0 score. Senior Kendall Au (Essex Fells, N.J./West Essex) won in No. 2 by a 6-1, 6-1 score.

Freshman Jordan Soifer (Stamford, Conn./Stamford) in No. 3 (6-0, 6-2), sophomore Alex Novins (Wellesley, Mass./Wellesley) in No. 4 (6-0, 6-2) and freshmen Tawan Rattaseri (Bangkok, Thailand) in No. 5 (6-0, 6-1) and Pedro Diavan (Cuiaba, Brazil) in No. 6 (6-0, 6-2) all picked up big wins in singles.

The doubles action saw Weitz and Connor Aulson (Groveland, Mass./Pentucket) win in No. 1 (8-1), Au and Soifer in No. 2 (8-2) and Diavan and Rattaseri in No. 3 (8-0).

Bentley (1-0) will next be in action on Monday when they visit Eastern Nazarene.
