McCarthy & Granat Again Earn Northeast-10 Awards
WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University men's tennis players Brendan McCarthy (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth) and Dylan Granat (Woodbury, N.Y./Syosset) closed out the fall season with more hardware as they were again selected Northeast-10 Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively.
McCarthy is Player of the Week for the 3rd consecutive week, while Granat is Rookie of the Week for the 2nd straight time. The pair helped Bentley to wins over Franklin Pierce (9-0) and Division I Hartford (4-3) over the weekend.
Against Hartford, McCarthy won his No. 1 singles match 6-4, 6-2 and against Franklin Pierce he teamed with George Samander (Willemstad, Curacao) for a victory in No. 1 doubles 9-7.
Granat won both of his singles matches. He defeated James Bisazza of Franklin Pierce in the No. 1 spot, 6-3, 6-2 and against Hartford he knocked off Nick Sharwarko in the No. 2 spot 6-1, 6-1.
