Men's Tennis Sweeps Singles in 8-1 Victory over Saint Michael's

COLCESTER, Vt. – Bentley University won all six singles matches on its way to an 8-1 victory over Saint Michael's in a Northeast-10 men's tennis match on Saturday.

Senior co-captain Lucas Wever (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Chapel School) played in his first match all season after returning from injury and was one of four double winners for the Falcons. Wever first teamed with junior Andrew Waddington (Granby, Conn./Granby Memorial) in No. 3 doubles, and the pair defeated Sam Laves and Kenny Vassallo 8-0. Wever then beat Lyle Nichols in No. 6 singles 6-0, 6-0.

The other three double winners for Bentley were senior Rodrigo Ribeiro (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Chapel School), freshman Kamil Pilch (Wroclaw, Poland/IMG Pendleton) and Waddington.

Ribeiro and Pilch defeated Eric Parziale and Steve Thomson 8-2 in No. 1 doubles, then trumped them in singles. Ribeiro beat Parziale 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 in the No. 1 match, while Pilch bested Thomson 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 in the No. 3 match. Waddington defeated Billy Wood 6-2, 6-2 in the No. 4 match for his second win of the day.

The two other winners in singles for Bentley were junior Jimmy Rindo (Lowell, Mass./Lowell) and sophomore Raghav Tanna (Burlington, Mass./Burlington). Rindo, 6-4, 6-2 over Nick Bosco in the No. 2 match, and Tanna, 6-2, 4-6, 10-7 over Chris Moskal in the No. 5 match.

Bentley will go for its fourth straight win on Monday when they visit Brandeis.
