Men’s Tennis Opens Play at Quinnipiac Invitational

HAMDEN, Conn. – The Bentley men's tennis team opened play Friday at the Quinnipiac Invitational along with six Division I teams competing in four doubles tournaments.

In the A tournament, Rodrigo Ribeiro (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Chapel School) and Kamil Pilch (Wroclaw, Poland/IMG Pendleton) won two matches to advance to the semifinals before having their run ended. They defeated Michael Rosengren and Tim Abbracciamento of Villanova in the first round 8-6, and bested Eric Ambrosio and Alex Lazerowich of Quinnipiac 8-4 in the quarters. They lost to Dana Parziale and Max Vogt of Bryant in a close one, 9-8 (10).

In the A consolation tournament, Andrew Waddington (Granby, Conn./Granby Memorial) and Raghav Tanna (Burlington, Mass./Burlington) were victorious in their quarterfinal match over Mike Provenzano and Brian Power of Sacred Heart 9-8 (6), before falling in the semis.

Jimmy Rindo (Lowell, Mass./Lowell) and Alex DeMuth (Shaker Heights, Ohio/University School) advanced to the finals of the B consolation tournament, beating Bogdan Nedelcu and Edgardo Ureta of Hartford in the quarters 8-5, and Mark HoSang and Zac McEntee of UConn in the semis 9-8 (6). They were defeated by Mike Miller and Levine of Max Villanova in the finals 8-3.
