Wever, Waddington Among Four Who Earn All-Conference Honors

WALTHAM, Mass. – Four Bentley University men's tennis players have been named to the 2010-11 Northeast-10 All-Conference teams, the league revealed Tuesday. Among them are sophomore Lucas Wever (Sao Paulo, Brazil), named to the second team, and freshman Andrew Waddington (Granby, Conn./Granby Memorial), named to the All-Rookie team.

Wever was picked to the second team in the first singles flight after going 9-2 in conference play. He and sophomore Rodrigo Ribeiro (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Chapel School) were selected third team All-Conference in the first doubles flight with a record of 9-2.

Ribeiro also garnered a third team selection in the third singles flight with a 6-0 record. Overall he was 8-1 in NE-10 singles matches.

Waddington made an immediate impact as a freshman, posting a 9-2 singles record in conference. He primarily played in the fourth and sixth flights. He and his main doubles partner, junior Victor Suski (West Hartford, Conn./William Hall), were chosen to the first team in the third doubles flight with a 6-1 record.

The Falcons finished the regular season with an overall record of 10-7 and 10-1 in the NE-10, earning a three-way share of the regular season championship and the third-seed in the conference playoffs. They defeated Le Moyne 5-0 in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.
