Bentley Stays Unbeaten, Blanks Pace 9-0
PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The Bentley University men's tennis team improved to 2-0 on the season with a 9-0 victory over Pace in Northeast-10 Conference action Saturday afternoon.
The Falcons won both of the doubles matches that were contested, as sophomores Rodrigo Ribeiro (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Chapel School) and Lucas Wever (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Chapel School) beat Ignacio Ortiz and Dan Klein 8-2 in the top-flight, and junior Alec Spycher (Sarasota, Fla./Saint Stephens Episcopal) and freshman Andrew Waddington (Granby, Conn./Granby Memorial) defeated Khari Linton and Matt Schaefer 8-0 in the second-flight.
In singles, Wever, Spycher, Ribeiro and Waddington were all victorious in straight sets.
The Falcons are now 2-0 overall and 2-0 in NE-10 play, while Pace, playing its first match of the season, drops to 0-1.
Bentley continues its fall season on Oct. 12 at Franklin Pierce.
