Falcons come up short at Southern Connecticut

NEW HAVEN, Connecticut – Daniel Lehr won two individual events at Southern Connecticut Friday afternoon, but the Bentley men's swimming & diving team came up short in the Northeast-10 dual, 145-140.

Results

Lehr won the 100-backstroke with a time of 52.77 seconds, and he was victorious in the 100-butterfly by touching the wall in 53.97 seconds. Joey Twomey was second in the latter event, timing in at 55.04 seconds.

Leighton Wielgoszinski won the 1,000-freestyle with a time of 10:03.79, and Andrew Matjucha was close behind in second place (10:05.86).

Eddy Erofeyev was the first to finish the 200-IM (2:04.64), and Matthew Walden placed second in the event (2:05.20).

Kenneth Ryu earned two individual second-place finishes: one in the 100-breaststroke (1:00.34), and the other in the 200-breaststroke (2:17.25).

Wellington Chen (22.00) and Carter Ferrara (22.38) placed second and third, respectively, in the 50-freestyle. Ferrara was also second in the 100-freestyle (48.88).

Bentley won the 400-freestyle relay thanks to the efforts of Ferrara, Wellington, Jakub Zukowski, and Daniel Ivanchikov. The squad posted a time of 3:17.8.

Owen Angkatavanich won the 3-meter dive by posting a score of 143.00.

Bentley remains on the road for a conference dual at Pace Saturday, Jan. 13.
