Vizental Leads Bentley to 4th Straight Win, 170-124 over Brandeis
WALTHAM, Mass. – Senior Anthony Vizental (Concord, Calif./Clayton Valley HS) won three individual events, all in Northeast-10 Conference season-best times, and participated on the Falcons' winning 200 medley relay team as the Bentley University men's and women's swimming and diving team defeated crosstown rival Brandeis University, 170-124, Friday night at the Dana Center pool.
Vizental was outstanding with his accomplishments including a pool record in the 200 yard butterfly (1:59.04). He also moved to number one on the NE10 performance list in the 200 freestyle (1:44.38), the 100 fly (51.13) and the 200 medley relay (1:36.05).
The relay also included sophomores Calvin Ye (Port Washington, N.Y./Paul D. Schreiber HS) and Kenneth Ryu (Los Angeles, Calif./Loyola HS), among with junior Wellington Chen (Great Neck, N.Y./John L. Miller North HS).
Other Northeast-10 season-bests were achieved by Ye in the 50 backstroke (52.92) and senior Ryan Looney (Wilton, Conn./Wilton HS). Both finished first in their respective event. Ye also took the top spot in the 200 back (2:04.75).
Graduate student Jeremy Glick (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor HS) won both one-meter diving competitions, achieving a combined score of 425.00.
Bentley also took first in the 200 free relay with that quartet consisting of Chen, Looney sophomore Tyler Marzano (Hillsdale, N.J./Pascack Valley HS) and junior Andrew Matjucha (Randolph, N.J./Randolph HS).
The next meet for Bentley is November 19 at home against Keene State.
