Bentley Sweeps Freestyle Events in 174-124 Win at Le Moyne

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Bentley University men's swimming team swept the freestyle events – five individual and one relay – Saturday and prevailed over Le Moyne College, 174-124, at the Rev. Vincent B. Ryan, S.J. Pool.

Leading the way was senior captain Anthony Vizental (Concord, Calif./Clayton Valley HS). He posted the Northeast-10 Conference's best time of the young season in both the 500 yard free (4:53.08) and the 200 free (1:45.09) while also touching first in the 200 individual medley (1:58.84).

In addition, Vizental was part of the Falcons' 400 medley relay that won in a conference-best time of 3:35.28. That quartet also included sophomore Calvin Ye (Port Washington, N.Y./Paul D. Schreiber HS) and seniors Tanner Eisenhut (Jamesville, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius HS) and Ryan Looney (Wilton, Conn./Wilton HS).

Ye and Looney each captured two individual races. Looney was first in both the 50 and 100 free, with times of 21.94 and 48.40, and Ye's victories came in the 100 butterfly (53.51) and the 100 backstroke (54.12).

Bentley's winning 200 relay team consisted of sophomore Marshall Wilson (Beverly Hills, Fla./Crystal Ranch HS) and juniors Sergio Torres (Guaynabo, P.R.), Peter Epp (Port Washington, N.Y./Paul D. Schreiber HS) and Andrew Matjucha (Randolph, N.J./Randolph HS). Their time was 1:31.14.

Matjucha outswam the field in the 1000 free, finishing in 10:16.57, and sophomore Kenneth Ryu (Los Angeles, Calif./Loyola HS) took first in the 200 breaststroke.

Bentley (2-0) will be back in action Sunday afternoon with a 1:00 start against The College of Saint Rose at Albany High School.
