Bentley Men Stay Unbeaten in Pool with 162-132 Win at Brandeis

WALTHAM, Mass. – Senior Mark Zoda (Nashua, N.H./Bishop Guertin HS) earned three freestyle victories and anchored the Falcons' winning 200 yard medley relay team to lead the Bentley University men's swimming and diving teams to a 162-132 win over Brandeis University Saturday afternoon.

Bentley, now 4-0 on the season, opened the meet by capturing the 200 medley in 1:36.47. Senior Oscar Chang (Dix Hills, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills West HS) led off and was followed by classmate Zach Papsco (Northport, N.Y./Northport HS), junior Anthony Vizental (Concord, Calif./Clayton Valley HS) and Zoda.

Zoda took first in the three short freestyle races with times of 21.57 in the 50, 47.28 in the 100 and 1:44.62 in the 200. The latter two marks were both Northeast-10 Conference season-bests.

Senior Jeremy Glick (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor HS) was a double-winner in the two one-meter diving competitions. He turned in scores of 163.20 for five dives and 238.10 for six dives.

The other winners for Bentley were junior Ryan Looney (Wilton, Conn./Wilton HS) in the 200 backstroke and Vizental in the 200 butterfly (1:57.99). Looney's 2:03.56 was a Northeast-10 season-best.

Papsco was involved in the meet's two closest events as he lost to Brandon Lu in the 100 breast by .03 seconds and to James Brand in the 100 butterfly by just .02 seconds.

Next up for the Falcons is next Saturday at Keene State.
