Zoda Leads Bentley to 158-124 Win over Le Moyne

WALTHAM, Mass. – Senior Mark Zoda (Nashua, N.H./Bishop Guertin HS) won three freestyle events and anchored a winning relay as Bentley University swam past Le Moyne College, 158-124, in men's college swimming Sunday afternoon.

Bentley captured 14 of 16 events and improved to 2-0 during its first Dana Center appearance in 21 months.

Zoda registered winning times of 21.46 seconds in the 50 yard free, 47.53 in the 100 and a Northeast-10 season-best 1:46.95 in the 200. He finished the afternoon with a closing leg of 21.05 in the 200 free relay after following junior Anthony Vizental (Concord, Calif./Clayton Valley HS), sophomore Peter Epp (Port Washington, N.Y./Paul D. Schreiber  HS) and junior Riley Lambert (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey HS) into the pool.

Vizental was one of three double-winners for the Falcons as he was first in the 200 butterfly (1:57.82) and the 500 free (4:57.85). Both of those time were the fastest recorded in the NE10 so far this season.

The other double-winners for the Falcons were senior Oscar Chang (Dix Hills, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills West HS) and junior Tanner Eisenhut (Jamesville, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius HS). Chang swam the NE10's best time in the 100 back (54.66) and also placed first in the 100 butterfly (53.35). Eisenhut swept the breaststroke events with his times of 1:02.32 in the 100 and 2:18.89 in the 200 both NE10 bests.

Chang also led off the Falcons' 200 medley relay team that placed first in 1:38.75.

Bentley's other individual winners were senior Zach Papsco (Northport, N.Y./Northport HS) in the 200 individual medley (2:05.74), junior Ryan Looney (Wilton, Conn./Wilton HS) in the 200 back (2:05.60) and sophomore  Andrew Matjucha (Randolph, N.J./Randolph HS) in the 1000 free (10:25.85).

Next Saturday, Bentley will host Saint Rose at 1 pm.
