Bentley Men Open by Winning Every Event at Wheaton

NORTON, Mass. – In its first official meet since February 2020, the Bentley University men's swimming and diving team captured every event en route to a 219-77 victory at Wheaton College Saturday afternoon.

The Falcons were led by senior captains Zach Papsco (Northport, N.Y./Northport HS) and Mark Zoda (Nashua, N.H./Bishop Guertin HS), who each won two individual events and teamed up on two winning relays.

Papsco was the first to the wall in the 100-yard breaststroke and the 100 butterfly, with times of 1:00.24 and 52.81, respectively. Zoda's victories came in the 50 freestyle (21.32) and the 100 free (47.52).

They helped Bentley to capture the opening 200 medley relay in 1:35.65, with the quartet also including senior Oscar Chang (Dix Hills, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills West HS) and junior Anthony Vizental (Concord, Calif./Clayton Valley HS). In the 200 free relay, they helped Bentley to a time of 1:28.12.

Bentley's other double-winners were Vizental in the 200 free (1:46.57) and the 200 individual medley (2:01.47), senior diver Owen Busser (Chelmsford/Chelmsford HS) in the one-meter (171.30) and the three-meter (203.40), sophomore Andrew Matjucha (Randolph, N.J./Randolph HS) in the 1000 free (10:23.33) and the 500 free (507.64), and freshman Calvin Ye (Port Washington, N.Y./Paul D. Schreiber HS) in the 200 butterfly (2:30.48) and the 200 back (2:05.43).

The other individual winners for the Falcons were Chang in the 100 back (55.05) and junior Tanner Eisenhut (Jamesville, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius HS) in the 200 breast (2:17.06).

Bentley, 47-1 in its last 48 dual meets, will open its home schedule on Halloween afternoon against Le Moyne College.
