Bentley Extends Win Streak to 33 and Completes 3rd Straight Undefeated Dual Season

WALTHAM, Mass. – With ten different student-athletes winning individual events, the Bentley University men's swimming and diving team finished its third straight undefeated dual schedule with a Senior Day victory over Bridgewater State Wednesday night at the Dana Center.

The 166-64 victory was the Falcons' 33rd straight in dual competition, dating back to January 2016.

Bentley's only double winner came in diving with freshman Owen Busser (Chelmsford/ Chelmsford HS) turning in winning scores of 218.03 from the one-meter board and 225.74 from the three-meter.

The only senior to capture an individual event was co-captain Frank Elenio (Ridgefield, N.J./ Bergen County Academies) in the 200 individual medley (2:02.98). Another senior from the Garden State, Ryan McGeary (Paramus, N.J./Bergen Catholic HS), was part of the Falcons' winning 400 medley relay team (3:33.07).

Freshmen played a key role in the victory with Mark Zoda (Nashua, N.H./Bishop Guertin HS), Ellis Sartorio (Mountainside, N.J./Academy for Information Technology) and Zach Papsco (Northport, N.Y./Northport HS) joining Busser on the list of winners. Zoda swam the 1000 free in 10:13.97, Sartorio the 100 back in 55.67 and Papsco the 100 breast in 59.85.

Bentley also received first-place efforts from junior Jarod Yoshihara (Irvine, Calif./University HS) in the 200 free (1:47.79), sophomore Clayton Bennice (Ballston Spa, N.Y./Ballston Spa HS) in the 50 free (22.81), sophomore Paul Homorodean (Milford, Conn./Joseph A. Foran HS) in the 100 butterfly (52.64), junior Alper Alkaya (Milan, Italy) in the 100 free (49.02) and juniorDan Sausto (Slingerlands, N.Y./Doane Stuart School) in the 500 free (5:00.31).

Coming up for the Falcons are the Northeast-10 Championships at WPI Feb. 7-10.
