Le, Belanger & Bridge Earn Academic All-NE-10 Honors for Swimming & Diving

WALTHAM, Mass. – Three members of the Bentley University men's and women's swimming and diving teams were named to the 2014 Academic All-Northeast-10 team. Seniors Amanda Le (Chelmsford/Chelmsford HS) and Peter Belanger (Andover/Andover HS) were each recognized for the second straight year and sophomore Colton Bridge (Tolland, Conn./Tolland HS) earned the honor for the first time.

Le captured the Northeast-10 championship in the 200 yard individual medley and also finished second in the conference championships in both the 100 breaststroke and the 200 breast. She is the school record-holder in both the 200 IM (2:09.07) and the 200 breast (2:21.76), and is in the top five in Bentley history in three other events. The member of the Bentley Honor Society has earned a stellar 3.85 grade point average as an accountancy major.

Belanger, who has a GPA over 3.5 in corporate finance and accounting, finished tenth in the 100 butterfly, 12th in the 200 breast and 14th in the 200 IM at the NE-10 Championships. He finished his career with a share of the school record in both the 200 medley and 400 medley relays, and is third in program history in both the 50 butterfly and the 200 breast.

Bridge placed second in both diving competitions at the Northeast-10 championships, posting scores of 373.8 from the one-meter board and 389.5 from the three meter. The five-time NE-10 Men's Diver of the Week participated in both events at the NCAA Division II pre-qualification meet and is also a member of the soccer team. In the classroom, he's amassed a GPA of nearly 3.5 while majoring in economics-finance and liberal studies.

In addition, both the men's and women's teams received Scholar All-America Team recognition from the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for their performance in the classroom during the fall semester.  The women's team had a 3.40 grade point average and the men's team had a 3.18.

The CSCAA, the oldest professional organization of college coaches in America, presents Scholar All-America Team awards twice annually to swimming and diving programs who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher.
