Late Goal Sees Southern Connecticut Clip Bentley 1-0; Falcons No. 2 Seed in NE10 Championship

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – An 87th minute goal by Southern Connecticut's Yannick Hilpert gave Southern Connecticut a 1-0 victory over visiting Bentley on Tuesday night.

Despite the defeat, Bentley finished in second place in the NE10 standings with 17 points and will be the No. 2 seed in the NE10 Championship. They will host the No. 7 seed Southern New Hampshire in the quarterfinals on Saturday at 2:00 PM.

The Falcons were riding a six game unbeaten streak and a three game winning streak going into Tuesday's game. Joe Griffin made five saves in goal.

Bentley defeated the Penmen 1-0 back on Oct. 14 on a 46th minute goal by Antonio Santos.

At the end of the regular season Bentley's records are 7-6-2 overall and 5-3-2 in the NE10.
