ALBANY, N.Y. – Saint Rose extended its unbeaten streak to three matches with a 2-0 victory over Bentley on Wednesday afternoon.
The Golden Knights were coming off a 2-2 tie with Southern New Hampshire and a 5-1 win over Adelphi, two of the top teams in the NE10 standings. They improved to 4-3-3 in NE10 matches with the victory.
Saint Rose took a 1-0 lead in the 8th minute on a goal by Hilmar Halldorsson, his 11th of the season, which is second most in the NE10. They went ahead 2-0 in the 56th minute on a strike by Victor Henriksen in the 56th minute for his third of the year.
Sophomore Johann Fraser (Cambridge, Mass./Rindge & Latin) led the Falcons with three shots on goal. Goalkeeper Eduardo Bomfim (Salvador, Brazil) made nine saves. That was just one off of his season-high of 10, which he had in the last match against New Haven on Saturday, a 1-0 win.
Bentley (3-5-1 NE10) has just two matches left in the regular season. They will host Assumption on Saturday at 11:00 AM as part of Falcon Weekend, where the program will hold its 50 Years of Men's Soccer Celebration to welcome back alumni from throughout the team's history.
