WALTHAM, Mass. – Southern New Hampshire improved to 2-2 in the NE10 with a 4-1 victory over Bentley University in a Northeast-10 matchup on Tuesday afternoon.
The Penmen received goals from four different players, while junior Eric Makhatadze (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) scored for the Falcons in the 88th minute. That was his second goal of the season.
The Penmen jumped out to a 1-0 lead in just the first minute as graduate student Michael Goncalves scored off a bicycle kick in the penalty area, from about 12 yards out.
Fellow graduate student Jaime Selva (Alicante, Spain) added the Penmen's second goal in the 14th minute, with a shot from the top of the penalty area, after he took a pass from freshman Alex Reiter (Salzburg, Austria).
It was 2-0 at halftime, and the Penmen scored goals in the 67th minute from senior Gabe Pinhancos and the 84th minute from sophomore Luca Shubitidze (Leipzig, Germany).
Makhatadze's goal came off a long-range strike from outside the penalty area.
The Falcons will look to bounce back on Saturday when they visit Le Moyne
