Tidona Scores in OT to Complete Bentley’s Comeback in 2-1 Win

North Andover, Mass. – Junior Matt Tidona (Bellmore, N.Y./Friends Academy) scored in the 100th minute to give the Bentley men's soccer team a 2-1, come from behind overtime win over Caldwell on Sunday afternoon to give the Falcons two wins at the season opening Merrimack Kickoff Classic.

Bentley was able to force overtime with just minutes remaining as senior Julian Stewart (Acton, Mass./Acton-Boxboro) struck for the second time this weekend, this time scoring in the 88th minute to tie the game 1-1 after Caldwell had gone ahead in the 58th minute.

Freshman Hunter Marshall (Harwinton, Conn./Avon Old Farms) had the assist on Stewart's goal.

In overtime, just 30 seconds before the end of the first OT period, Tidona scored unassisted to give the Falcons a 2-0 weekend at the Kickoff Classic.

Falcons goalie David Price (Needham, Mass./Beaver Country) picked up the win, while Stewart led all players with three shots on goal.

Bentley will go for its third win in a row to start the season on Wednesday when they host Roberts Wesleyan in a non-conference match for its home opener. Kickoff is 3:00 pm.
