Bentley Men’s Soccer Asst. Coach Shuttleworth Helps NE Revolution to MLS Cup Finals

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bobby Shuttleworth has been an assistant on Bentley head men's soccer coach Gary Crompton's staff for five seasons, helping the program to four Northeast-10 playoff appearances in that time. And on Saturday Shuttleworth, also the starting keeper for the New England Revolution, led them to the MLS Cup finals.

On Saturday at Gillette Stadium, Shuttleworth and his Revolution teammates advanced to the MLS Cup Finals by defeating the New York Red Bulls 4-3 on aggregate over two legs to win the MLS Eastern Conference championship.

After signing with the Revolution as a free agent in June of 2009, Shuttleworth served as a backup keeper for his first four seasons. The 2013 season is when he saw his first significant playing time and started 22 matches. This season he assumed the full-time starter's job, starting 32 of the Revs' 34 regular season matches and all four of its playoff matches so far.

Now with just one match left, the Revolution will now face Landon Donovan and the LA Galaxy in the MLS Cup finals on Sunday at the Stub Hub Center in LA. The match will air live on ESPN at 3:00.
