WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University's standout center-back Weston Zeiner (North Granby, Conn./Granby Memorial) has been named to the 2012 Daktronics Men's Soccer All-East Region first team, it was announced Monday.

Zeiner, who was a Daktronics All-East Region second team selection last season, is one of four backs and 13 players overall picked to the region first team this year.

It's the fourth major postseason recognition for Zeiner this year. He was named the Northeast-10's Defensive Player of the Year and first team All-Conference on Nov. 1, and he was also named to the Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-District 1 team.

Zeiner wrapped up his career this fall with another tremendous season as a senior. He led Bentley's backline from his position at center-back as they won 10 games overall, went 8-3-2 in the NE-10 and finished tied for fourth in one of the most competitive conferences in Division II. He started all 17 of the team's matches and offensively, chipped in two goals and two assists.

He's now eligible for Division II All-America consideration, with the men's team due to be announced on Nov. 28.
