Zeiner Named First Team All-Conference; Fitzpatrick All-Rookie

WALTHAM, Mass. – For the second straight season, Bentley's Weston Zeiner (North Granby, Conn./Granby Memorial) is a first team Northeast-10 Men's Soccer All-Conference choice at back. Freshman back Tom Fitzpatrick (Coventry, Conn./East Catholic) was named to the All-Rookie team.

A standout central defender, Zeiner anchored Bentley's backline this season. A co-captain as a junior, he has proven to also be an offensive threat, who was tied for third on the team in goals (4) and was fifth in points (10). He started 17 of 18 matches this season and the one match he didn't start he sat out completely.

Zeiner has now been named All-Conference in each of three seasons at Bentley, after being named first team in 2010 and All-Rookie in 2009. He has 13 goals and six assists for 32 points in his career.

"Weston is a very talented soccer player and a complete college player. He has size, skill, tactical awareness and toughness that are amongst the best in the country," said head coach Gary Crompton. "Weston is also a leader, who just shows up to every game and practice and works his tail off. He's worthy of first team All-Conference and I am very pleased that the other coaches in the league appreciate his value because our staff and all of Weston's teammates see it every day."

Fitzpatrick was Crompton's first-choice right back for most of the season, starting 13 of the final 15 matches. His selection marks the fourth straight season Bentley has had a player on the All-Rookie team.
