WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior Matt Solomon (Avon, Conn./Avon Old Farms) scored the game's only goal with just four-plus minutes to play to give Bentley University all three Northeast-10 points with a 1-0 victory over Assumption in men's soccer action Saturday afternoon.
The win maintains Bentley's perfect start to NE-10 play and gives them all nine points from three games. The loss drops Assumption to 2-2 in league play.
A pass in front of the net set Solomon up in a one-on-one with Greyhounds goalie Matt Wrenn, but Solomon won the battle for his fourth goal of the season and to give the Falcons a 1-0 lead.
Solomon was sent off with a red card with just 29 seconds to play leaving Bentley to finish the game with 10-men, but Assumption couldn't capitalize with so little time left.
