Second Half Goals from Lindberg, Turan Propel C.W. Post Past Bentley

WALTHAM, Mass. – Graduate William Lindberg and sophomore Cemil Turan scored late second half goals to lift No. 15 C.W. Post to a 2-1 victory over Bentley University in non-conference men's soccer Wednesday afternoon.

Bentley started out strong with a 12th minute goal from junior co-captain Weston Zeiner (North Granby, Conn./Granby Memorial) to take a 1-0 lead, and they limited the Pioneers' scoring chances until well into the second half as senior goalie Matt Reynolds (Nashua, N.H./Bishop Guertin) didn't have to make a save until the 62nd minute.

But the Pioneers began to assert themselves and create more chances as the second half wore on. Still, C.W. Post didn't break through until the 75th minute when Lindberg scored, curling a shot from outside the penalty area into the left corner of the net.

They took the lead on Turan's fifth goal of the season in the 85th minute, as he made a run down the left wing and fired his shot in from 15 yards.

Zeiner's goal for Bentley came as he played a header from Bryan German (Sandwich, Mass./Sandwich) and headed the ball himself for the goal.

The Pioneers remain unbeaten at 5-0 with the win, while the Falcons drop to 1-1-1. They're back in action for their Northeast-10 opener against AIC Sunday afternoon at home. Kickoff is 1:00 p.m.
