WALTHAM, Mass. – Senior Ryan Hatch (Haverhill, N.H./Woodsville) netted a 55th minute goal as Bentley University scored a 1-0 win over Assumption on a windy Saturday afternoon in Northeast-10 men's soccer action.

Hatch's hustle led to the game's only goal. Assumption goalie Brandan Sullivan tried to clear a loose ball in the box, but as he was running on to the ball, Hatch closed in on him and blocked Sullivan's kick. Hatch then gained possession of the ball, maneuvered around Sullivan and just snuck the ball inside the right post for the goal.

The windy conditions certainly affected the game, as both teams struggled to find quality scoring chances. Falcons goalie Mike Nikiforov (Framingham, Mass./Framingham) was called on to make just one save.

The win is the Falcons' sixth in their last 10 games (6-1-3), and they improve to 8-2-3 on the season and 5-1-3 in the NE-10. Assumption falls to 5-6-2 overall and 4-6-1 in the NE-10.

Bentley's next game is at home against Southern New Hampshire on Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
