Defense Shuts Down Assumption in 13-5 Victory on Senior Night

WALTHAM, Mass. - #13 Bentley stifled Assumption in a 13-5 victory on Senior Night for its fourth straight victory.

The Falcons improved to 7-4 overall and 5-3 in the NE10 with one game to play in the regular season.

Bentley didn't allow a goal for more than 47 minutes of game time, stretching from the 3:49 mark of the 1st quarter to 1:28 of the 4th quarter.

Goalie Jackson Tinsley made 14 saves against 18 shots faced. The duo of Kyle Piersiak and Alex Parton continued to wreak havoc with eight and five ground balls, respectively.

The offense was led by Conor Segreti with four goals. Will Adams and Garrett Witt each struck twice.

Bentley trailed 4-3 after a goal by Assumption's Ryan Bogar at the 3:49 mark of the opening quarter. But goals by Adams and Piersiak before the end of the quarter put them in front for good at 5-4.

The second quarter featured two goals by Segreti and one by Jayce Lambert for an 8-4 lead.

In the 3rd quarter, Nick Harvath and David Gagnon found the back of the net for a 10-4 lead after 45 minutes.

In the final frame, Witt, Segreti and Harvath scored.

The Falcons will close out the regular season on Tuesday at Saint Rose.
