No. 18 Bentley Falls to No. 10 Saint Anselm 17-6

MANCEHSTER, N.H. – No. 10 ranked Saint Anselm improved to 2-0 on the season with a 17-6 victory over No. 18 ranked Bentley on Saturday afternoon in a non-conference game.

The NE10 rivals are due to meet again in Waltham on April 1 in a NE10 matchup.

The Falcons, who were playing their first game in three weeks after an opening day victory over Georgian Court on Feb. 18, were led offensively by senior attacker Luke Jaber (Milton, Mass./BC High) who had two goals and two assists.

The Hawks got off to a 3-0 lead in the opening five-plus minutes of the first 1st quarter but Bentley closed the gap with two goals and kept them off the scoreboard the rest of the quarter.

The Falcons goals came from freshman Alex Ryan (Windham, N.H./Windham) and Jaber at the 9:16 and 4:02 marks.

Saint Anselm though got the better of the 2nd quarter and outscored Bentley 5-1 to take an 8-3 lead into halftime. Jaber had Bentley's goal late in the quarter.

The Hawks stretched their lead with five goals in the 3rd quarter. Bentley scored three times in the 4th quarter, with the goals by Nathan Alviti (New Fairfield, Conn./New Fairfield), Jake Calabro (Skaneateles, N.Y. / Homer) and Carter Straub (Quarkertown, Pa./The Hill School).

Bentley (1-1) will be back in action next Saturday to host Saint Rose for its first NE10 game of the season.
