Granzier, Jaber and Powers Named Men’s Lacrosse Captains for 2023 Season

WALTHAM, Mass. – Seniors Andrew Granzier (Scarborough, Maine/Scarborough), Luke Jaber (Milton, Mass./BC High) and Bryan Powers (Holden, Mass./Wachusett) will be the captains of the Bentley men's lacrosse team for the 2023 season.

The Falcons are just over one week away from opening the 2023 season, at home against Georgian Court on Feb. 18 at 12:00 PM.

The team is ranked in several national preseason polls, including 17th by the USILA and 14th by USA Lacrosse Magazine.

Granzier is a midfielder who has a double major in finance, and liberal studies with a focus in earth, environment & global sustainability. He played in all 14 games last season as the Falcons reached the semifinals of the Northeast-10 Championship. On the season he scooped up 20 ground balls, caused four turnovers and added two goals.

Jaber, an attacker, was named a second team Division II Preseason All-America by USA Lacrosse Magazine. He had a standout junior season with 32 goals and 19 assists for 51 points. He finished the 2022 season ranked 12th in the NE10 in goals and 10th in points and earned a number of postseason accolades, including second team All-NE10 and first team All-New England. 

He is majoring in management, with a minor in finance.

Powers is a defenseman who started all six games he appeared in last season. He started both postseason games and helped Bentley to its quarterfinal victory at Pace with two caused turnovers.

Powers is majoring in both economics, and liberal studies with a focus in Earth, the Environment and Global Sustainability.
