Bentley Set to Play Adelphi in NE10 Semifinals Wednesday Night

WALTHAM, Mass. – After advancing past Pace in the first round of the Northeast-10 Men's Lacrosse Championship on Saturday, next up for the Bentley Falcons is the top seed Adelphi on Wednesday night at 7:00 pm in Garden City, N.Y.

The Falcons defeated Pace 7-3 on Saturday with a standout defensive effort. They held the high-scoring Setters to a season-low three goals. Senior goalie Keaton Roarick (Old Saybrook, Conn./Old Saybrook) made 14 saves and Bentley's faceoff duo of Cam Bartolomeo (Meriden, Conn./Xavier) and Jake Tyska (Natick, Mass./Wayland) helped control possession by winning a combined 12 of 13 draws.

The offense was spread around as senior Ryan Birch (Walpole, Mass./Walpole) and junior Luke Jaber (Milton, Mass./BC High) each scored twice. The other three goals came from Bartolomeo, Nate Alviti (New Fairfield, Conn./New Fairfield) and David Gagnon (Chelmsford, Mass./Chelmsford).

The Falcons are ranked 16th in this week's USILA/Dynamic Division II poll.

Adelphi is the No. 1 seed and received a bye to the semifinals after they went 10-0 in the NE10 regular season. They went 13-1 overall, with their only defeat to Mercy on April 19. The Panthers are ranked No. 4 this week.

Adelphi's Joe Duchnowski was named the NE10 Player of the Year on Tuesday. He tallied 22 goals, 10 assists and 11 ground balls in 10 conference games.

The other semifinal on Wednesday will pit the No. 2 seed Le Moyne against the No. 3 seed Saint Anselm.

The NE10 Championship game is set for Saturday and hosted by the highest remaining seed.
