No. 2 Le Moyne Tops No. 16 Bentley 13-6

WALTHAM, Mass. – No. 2 ranked Le Moyne improved to 10-1 overall and 6-0 in the Northeast-10 with a 13-6 victory over No. 16 Bentley on Tuesday.

Le Moyne jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first quarter which Bentley ultimately was not able to come back from.

The Falcons got to within four goals at 8-4 in the third quarter and held Le Moyne without a goal for more than 15 minutes of game time. But the Dolphins were able to pull away in the fourth quarter.

Le Moyne led 8-3 at halftime after a goal by Zach Pierce with 1:47 left in the 2nd quarter. But after that goal the Bentley defense kept the Dolphins off the scoreboard until the final minute of the third quarter.

In that time Falcons freshman Nathan Alviti (New Fairfield, Conn./New Fairfield) scored at the 4:09 mark of the third quarter to make it an 8-4 game. But Le Moyne scored just before the quarter ended as Devin Andrews scored with 48 seconds left on the clock to make it 9-4.

Le Moyne then scored the three of the first four goals of the fourth quarter to take a 12-5 lead with 8:44 remaining. Senior Ben Baldasaro (Exeter, N.H./Exeter) scored for Bentley, one of his two goals on the day.

Junior Jake Tyska (Natick, Mass./Wayland) led Bentley with five ground balls and went 6-12 in the faceoff circle. Cam Bartolomeo (Meriden, Conn./Xavier) went 5-10.

Falcons goalie Keaton Roarick (Old Saybrook, Conn./Old Saybrook) made 12 saves and Bentley forced his counterpart Frank Delia to make 16 saves.

Bentley will look to get back in the win column on Saturday when they host Pace at 1:00 PM.
