LAKEWOOD, N.J. – The Bentley men's lacrosse got its 2022 season off to a winning start with a 13-4 win on the road against Georgian Court on Saturday afternoon in a non-conference game.
Senior midfielder Ben Baldasaro (Exeter, N.H./Exeter) led the attack with four goals, while sophomore Devin Smith (Maynard, Mass./Concord) and junior Luke Jaber (Milton, Mass./BC High) also had multiple goals with two each.
Senior Ryan Birch (Walpole, Mass./Walpole) had a game high two assists and also added a goal.
Senior goalkeeper Keaton Roarick (Old Saybrook, Conn./Old Saybrook) stopped eight shots to earn the win.
Bentley's face-off duo of Jake Tyska (Natick, Mass./Wayland) and Cam Bartolomeo (Meriden, Conn./Xavier) dominated to the tune of 14-16, with Bartolomeo going 6-6 and Tyska 8-10.
The Falcons did most of their damage in the first half. They jumped out to a 6-2 lead after the first quarter where Baldasaro scored twice. Baldasaro scored again early in the 2nd quarter and senior Matty O'Brien (Rockland, Mass./Rockland) added a goal in the quarter as well.
Bentley scored four goals in the 4th quarter. Smith netted two goals, Birch one and sophomore Jackson Bach (Burnt Hills, N.Y./Burnt Hills) one as well.
Bentley's next game will be its Northeast-10 opener, on Sunday March 6 at Saint Michael's.
