Waltham, Mass. – Senior Kris Campbell (Longmeadow, Mass./Longmeadow) led an explosive Bentley attack on Saturday with 4 goals and 4 assists as the men's lacrosse team defeated Assumption 19-6.

Graduate student Joey Tesoriero (Huntington Station, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills) and freshman Nicholas Thorn-Guillaro (Wilbraham, Mass./Wilbraham) had hat tricks on the day. Senior Dom Cioffi (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Yorktown), sophomore Andrew Granzier (Scarborough, Maine/Scarborough) and junior Clay Moseman (Longmeadow, Mass./Longmeadow) each had two goals as well.

Moseman had two assists and Tesoriero one assist to give each four points on the day.

Senior Nick Colstad (Hampton Falls, N.H./Governor's Academy) led the defensive efforts with three caused turnovers and five ground balls. Sophomore Jake Tyska (Natick, Mass./Wayland) went 11-15 in the faceoff circle, and junior goalie Keaton Roarick (Old Saybrook, Conn./Old Saybrook) earned the win in goal with six saves.

It took Bentley five-plus minutes to score in the first quarter, but when they did score they broke through in a big way. They scored five goals in a four-plus minute span to race out to a 5-0 lead. Campbell had a hand in four of those goals, with assists on the first two goals by Granzier and junior Ben Baldasaro (Exeter, N.H./Exeter). Campbell then scored two in a row himself, at the 7:29 and 6:05 marks.

Assumption got to within 7-2 in the 2nd quarter, but Bentley responded with a 3-0 run that spanned four minutes. Goals by Moseman, Matt Mulcahy (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor) and Tesoriero during the run gave Bentley a 10-2 lead with 3:11 remaining in the half.

The Falcons continued to pour it on in the 3rd quarter. They scored seven straight goals in a five-plus minute stretch. Six different players scored during the run, with Campbell the only player to score twice during the run in a balanced attack, which ended with Bentley ahead 17-3.

Guillaro scored Bentley's final two goals of the game, at the 3:12 mark of the 3rd quarter and 6:19 of the 4th quarter.

The Falcons improved their record to 1-2 on the season, both overall and in the NE10. They are next scheduled to play on Wednesday at AIC at 3:30 PM.
