Preview: Men’s Lacrosse Set to Host Assumption on Saturday

The Matchup: The Bentley University men's lacrosse team is set to host the Assumption Greyhounds on Saturday at 1:00 pm. It will be the home opener for the Falcons after their first two games of the season were on the road.

Last Time Out: The Falcons gave No. 11 ranked Pace everything they could handle and then some on Wednesday on the road, but in the end Pace came away with a 14-10 victory. Bentley led 9-8 after three quarters, but Pace used a 5-1 run over the eight-plus minutes of the 4th quarter to pull in front.

Junior midfielder Ben Baldasaro scored a career high four goals. Senior Kris Campbell scored two goals and senior defender Matt Mulcahy led the team with three caused turnovers. Junior goalie Keaton Roarick also put in a strong performance with 12 saves.

 

Game Notes: Through two games this season, Baldasaro and Campbell are tied for the team lead with 7 points. Junior Ryan Birch and sophomore Eric Makhatadze are tied for 3rd on the team, each with 5 points.

Senior Connor Baughan leads the team with 7 ground balls and Mulcahy leads the way with three caused turnovers.

The Greyhounds are playing their second game of the season today. They played their first game on Wednesday and fell to Southern New Hampshire 13-9. Sam Maciel and Nolan Sheehan each scored two goals.

 

Series History: Saturday's game will be the 28th all-time meeting between these two programs. Bentley leads the series 23-4. The Falcons won the last meeting in the 2019 season 11-8 out in Worcester.
