WALTHAM, Mass. – Four student-athletes from the Bentley University men's lacrosse team were selected to the All-New England teams by the NEILA, led by senior Max Adler (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla./Northfield Mt.Hermon), named to the first team as a face-off specialist. Seniors John Wheeler (Scarborough, Maine/Scarborough) and Eli Morrissey (Rowley, Mass./Governor's Academy), and sophomore Sam Hurley (Medfield, Mass./Medfield) were chosen to the second team.

Adler was named first team All-New England for the second consecutive season after he dominated in the face-off circle. With the Division II lacrosse season still going, he currently ranks fourth nationally in face-off winning percentage at 67.9% (201-296), and third in ground balls per game (9.54).

It's already the third postseason recognition for Adler, who was previously named first team All-Northeast 10 (for the second straight year), and CoSIDA Academic All-District 1.

Wheeler garnered a second team All-New England selection at attack. He finished his senior season with the team lead in all three major offensive categories with 24 goals, 13 assists and 37 points. He had a hat trick in four games, and scored at least one goal in all but one of the Falcons' games. He closed the season with at least three goals in the final three games, which included a career-high five against Saint Anselm.

It's the first All-New England selection for Wheeler, who finished his career with 59 goals and 37 assists for 96 points.

Morrissey enjoyed a breakout 2017 campaign, and added this second team All-New England recognition as a long-stick midfielder to previously being named second team All-Northeast-10. He was second on the team in ground balls (55), only to Adler, while he also tied for third in caused turnovers (11). Morrissey also contributed offensively with eight goals and two assists.

Hurley, a midfielder, also doubled as a second team All-New England and second team All-Conference pick.  He was third on the team in both goals (23) and points (31), and ranked fourth in assists (8). Hurley had a number of big games, which included a four goal, two assist effort against Southern New Hampshire, four goals against Saint Rose, and a hat trick against Adelphi.
