WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University freshman attacker Matt Brigham (Portsmouth, R.I./Portsmouth Abbey) has been named the Northeast-10 men's lacrosse Rookie of the Week after his performance in the Falcons' win over American International on Sunday.

Brigham led the Bentley offense with four goals, while adding one assist, as they cruised to a 15-3 victory over the Yellow Jackets in their first NE-10 game of the season.

He scored the first goal of the game just 4:03 into the first quarter to give Bentley an early lead. He then netted a man-up goal as part of a four goal second quarter for the Falcons to help them to an 8-1 halftime lead, then struck twice more in the third quarter, including another in a man-up situation.

The goals put his total for the season at five, which leads the team, and with two assists he leads the squad in points as well with seven.

Brigham and the Falcons will look to follow up Sunday's win when they head to Syracuse on Saturday to take on Le Moyne, which is ranked tied for No. 1 in Division II in this week's USILA poll. Game time is 11:00 am.
